## Set an early evidence cycle

Define the essential knowledge, skills and abilities for the role. Give the employee realistic chances to practice them, observe the work and provide feedback while the experience is still fresh.

Short, frequent coaching cycles help correct misunderstandings before they become habits. They also make early progress visible to both the employee and manager.
